Our main motivation is to create a new awareness of whom and what we are.

We strive to revive the culture we are from and recreate an awareness of what our culture means and what it represents.

British culture should not be confused with our history.

We live in an English county where the original Celtic inhabitants were known in Latin as Domnonii meaning ‘people of the land’. This is true of all British people and their descendants around the World.

The British people are natural lovers of their space and their freedom. It is these two simple things that represent our true cultural identity. We should be proud to be part of one of the world’s oldest multicultural nations. Our regional accents and national language are based upon our Celtic, Saxon, Viking and Norman ancestry. All of our ancestors once belonged to ethnic groups within these wonderful isles. It was they who created the myths, folklore and legends upon which our great culture was founded. Too often we reflect upon other countries’ fascinating cultures without recognizing that we have a wonderful and magical culture of our own. After many years of seeking out some of our lesser known folklore we have gained a valuable insight into our true culture. It has become obvious how much we have been misled over the centuries. We are truly a fascinating Race of people. We recently heard a statement “he who writes our history owns it”. That is not true about our folklore “we are our folklore”.

‘A nation’s culture lies within its folklore’

We at Tumbling Woods have created wearable items that reflect the fact that our ancestors lived by the laws of nature based upon a world they knew and respected. We have chosen the tree as our emblem because to our ancestors trees were the bridges between the earth and the sky. British people have great respect for the natural world. They wish to remain close to it. Our items are basic and uncomplicated as we believe this characterizes a visible link between ourselves, our culture and our ancestry.

We recently made a decision not to knowingly buy components from the world’s worst environmentally damaging nations.

All of our tree related items are hand made by us.

It is not our policy to disclose the names of the high profile customers who purchase our products, their personal choices remain their property and in our confidence.
